This time of year, my go-to breakfast is plain yogurt topped with pineapple and mango. (I buy diced frozen pineapple and mangoes so I don’t even need to chop anything!) If I’m craving something a little bit sweeter, I add flaked coconut or even granola for some crunch. Yummm!
Also, when it’s hot outside (which is essentially every day here in Phoenix), I make refreshing smoothies as an afternoon treat. (Get my favorite recipe here.) I include Oikos Plain Yogurt to make our smoothies creamier and add protein.
Bettijo’s loves the Oikos 0% Fat Honey flavor — she says that when a late-night, ice cream craving strikes, but she’s trying eat healthy she grabs the honey yogurt and a spoon instead. The craving is satisfied without the guilt!
I have to say, my favorite use of Oikos Plain Yogurt is a substitute for sour cream. Yes, I’m completely serious. I made the switch about a year or two ago, and my sour cream-loving husband didn’t notice! I even substituted Dannon’s Greek Yogurt for sour cream at parties. Remember Bettijo’s famous ranch dip… yup, I don’t use sour cream — I use this! On top of chili and tacos? I use this. Come to think of it, I don’t even remember the last time I purchased actual sour cream!
